Chapter 11: MOVING PAIN AND GRIEF

Writing Prompt #11

Picture

SETTING: You slow down your breath and calm your mind through conscious presence.

You've come this far and understand fully that this fire that the Dragon breathes is an illusion keeping you from your treasure which is in sight; a golden chest sparkling by the beast's side. In it contains your elixir. From where you stand, you feel its power and have a deep knowing that it belongs to you.

You walk with courage towards the Dragon, maintaining an upright posture, meeting its devastating gaze. It bellows ferociously spewing a tornado of fire right at you. You remain where you are, trusting in the shield of your strong spirit. All the creatures you've conquered suddenly appear by your side. Your magical cloak of sensitivity shimmers around you and the fire passes over and through you. A purifying and cleansing feeling.

The Dragon within is stilled by your deep surrender and unwavering belief in yourself.

PROMPT: Now that you have confronted the Dragon - communicated with Pain or Grief - answer the following questions:

Who I am now without Pain or Grief as an obstacle? Where am I? What kind of things am I doing? Who is around me?

What is the ultimate vision I hold for myself?

Where does this new story feel good in my body?

Umask the previous image of Pain and Grief by drawing an image of this new vision!

I'd like you to stand up and for a few moments to embody this image. Move into a posture that reflects this feeling.

As you stand or sit in your posture glance at your image and answer this question: If the image could speak what would it say?

Say this out loud 3 times and let it be your intention.

                                 *    *    *

Come back to your image and write these words down as your title.

Underneath or beside your drawing, finish the statements:

I sense:

I feel:

I imagine:

CONGRATULATIONS. You have walked the warrior's path! Well done for bravely trailing through the darkness of your inner Cave, for unmasking the monsters and shadows in your way!

YOU HAVE AWAKENED THE SHERO WITHIN.

Can you name your new found treasure? What is the elixir that will bring you new life; new vitality. What potion will you drink daily to strengthen and embody your inner warrior?

Take 3 deep breaths in and out to close.
